Diana Cook
Dear Burks Families and Students,
My name is Diana Cook and I am so excited to serve Burks Elementary School as your Assistant Principal. I began my teaching career 25 years ago in Northern Illinois. I taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classes for ten years before my family and I decided to move to Cookeville, Tennessee. It was the best choice we ever made! For the past 15 years, I have taught 3rd and 4th grades at Baxter Elementary School, I have worked as an Interventionist, Enrichment Specialist and Instructional Coach at Northeast Elementary School, and had the privilege of serving as a District ELA Coach for third through fifth grade teachers. Last year was my first year at Burks, and I believe it is the absolute best place there is!
My husband, John and I have been married for 25 years and have three beautiful children. Hannah, our oldest, is a surgical nurse at Erlanger Hospital. Noah is a recent graduate from MHS and Matthew will begin his junior year at Monterey. We also have a rescue dog named Piper who is spoiled rotten! We love to spend time together exploring nearby caves, playing family games and spending time with our church family.
I am so blessed to be a part of the Burks Family and I am excited to see all of you for this upcoming school year. I am so proud to be a “Panther”!
